Ceredigion County Council – Secondary School Fibre Optic 10 GB Upgrade
During the summer of 2020, we assisted Ceredigion County Council in the acquisition of grant funding for the upgrade of the aging data networking of 5no secondary schools around Ceredigion. During the segmented program we installed upwards of 2.1km of fiber optic cabling all either achieving or exceeding the 10 GB transfer rate required. All cabling met the criteria for a 25year CommScope warranty.
Electrical Estimates were proud to be the main contractor for this project. The scope of works covered two phases.
Phase 1:
Test and inspect existing fibre optic installation of 5no secondary schools, provide report and quotations to achieve a 10 GB transfer rate to all data cabinets.
Phase 2:
Install replacement fibre optic links, repair existing fibre links and install data cabinets.
We hope the schools are enjoying their new connectivity, especially in an era when online learning is becoming more important and needed.
